Atleti Lab’s innovation model takes centre stage at the Web Summit in Lisbon

From 10 to 13 November, the Portuguese capital hosted one of the world’s most important technology events, bringing together more than 71,000 attendees and 2,500 start-ups.
Atleti Lab were represented at the conference through its director, Alejandro Ugarrio, who shared his vision of innovation in a three-way discussion that also featured Erdem Erkul, Executive Vice President of Technology at Galatasaray S.K., and André Bernardo, Vice President and Strategy Officer at Sporting CP.
The conversation, titled Next-gen football: Redesigning global clubs for fans and the digital era, reviewed the initiatives of the three participating clubs in this forward-looking approach, with supporters placed at the centre of every project. The director of Atleti Lab highlighted innovation as the key to facing future challenges in the best possible way, and co-creation with all stakeholders in the club’s ecosystem as a natural lever in evolving our relationship with them. He also stressed the importance of ensuring that innovation projects are aligned with a clear purpose, as well as a commitment to the community; an essential way of ensuring that fans feel proud both on and off the pitch.
